Kirkus Reviews Examines ‘An Adventurous Spirit: A Lowestoft Chronicle Anthology’

After a three-year absence, the latest title in the Lowestoft Chronicle Anthology Series, An Adventurous Spirit, finally makes its long overdue appearance. Broader, bolder, and positively brimming with smart, colorful adventure, this mixed anthology includes two works by each of the featured writers. A ‘twofer,’ if you will.

In addition to the usual poetry, fiction, travel essays, and an expansive (almost exhausting, some might say) introduction by the editor, the collection includes interviews with award-winning authors Abby Frucht and Sheldon Russell. There’s also an enlightening foreword by acclaimed poet James B. Nicola.

A review published in Kirkus Reviews yesterday described the collection as having many standout pieces. Highlighting some of the fine fiction and poems, it praised the compendium for its variety, droll humor, and inventiveness. “Overall, it’s entertaining, varied, and clever writing,” wrote the reviewer. “A refreshingly original collection of sharp tales.”

You can read the full review here. And you can preorder the book from any major online bookseller, including AmazonBarnes & Noble, or directly from the publisher.
